"Fun Time Poll" Why did you choose your particula
I thought this might be fun and insightful:
Why did you choose your particular Userid ?
Mine was meant as a "disclaimer"

Since this forum is about sleeping and apnea, I chose Catnapper because of the definition of catnap. Usually it refers to a short nap. Unfortunately for me, that is what I do at night, nap in short amounts of time. I can't imagine what it would be like to sleep 5 hours straight without waking up during that time, much less 8. My longest nap at night is about 3 hours, and usually much less. Most typical is 90 minutes or so, then awake for a bit (or frequently another 90 minutes or more) then another nap.
I hope to be sleeping better someday.
Until then,
Catnapper

I've had the nicknames Bones or Boney ever since I was a child, That's due to the pronunciation of my surname. And now you can have fun guessing what that might be. I normally just go by Brian, but that username was already taken here.

I grew up on a farm and even by the age of eight, I was one of the leaders in organizing the games and sports we played. For this, my older cousins called me Rooster - always strutting around the barnyard telling others what to do.
For this site, I spelled it all in lower case, because my "cock-a-doodle-doo" is greatly diminished from living with undiagnosed and misdiagnosed apnea for years.

cpaptalk would not accept my usual ID for some reason. cpaptalk didn't like another ID that I often use. Thus, since I loved my Slinky "quote" the minute I saw it, I chose Slinky as my ID and cpaptalk finally accepted this ID. Then Linda3032 found my Slinky avatar for me. And a great PAPper on another xPAP forum reduced its size to fit the avatar size requirements here and voila! here I is!!! ID, avatar and sig.

Actually I was nicknamed "Gearhead" several years ago, by someone
who really didn't know the meaning of the term. He was referring to
my incremental thought process, you know step 1, step 2, and etc..
Although I did rebuild a couple of engines in the '60's, and I do like
the older 'vetts and Indians, the nickname was a misapplication of the term.
Before that my nickname was "Big Stu". I got this nickname in high school.
You see a group of girls carved out a peep hole in the shower room, and.
........Sorry I got sidetracked..
Now I'm old (66), so it's oldgearhead.,
cheers,

After spending my first couple of nights on the hose, some of my co-workers asked what it was all about. The first descriptive image I could think of was Gonzo the Muppet - hose nose, talks funny, eyes bug out, but happy. They got together and ordered me a big Gonzo stuffed doll and put it in my office with a note pinned to him that says "We still love you hosenose". He greets me every morning at work from the shelf above my head!
The name Gonzo was apparently taken so I added the "Snoozing" as a modifier. "Lucky" would have been better.

I was given my name in 1975 by a very good friend now deceased, I worked on his cars, and he got me interested in C.B., also I worked at K-Mart, for another good friend, my manager, while laid off from the mines. K-Mart had the picture perfect policy.... As in "GoofProof"
Also my wife uses it for me, because she says I never do anything wrong! "Sarcastically of Course"! Jim
AND: It's a Computer Monitor, but i've been inside a lot of T.V. and Radio Transmitters too. Whatever is broken, I'll be there!

For me it was the shock of looking at my sleep study results and seeing that I had been in REM sleep less than 1 minute. When catching a quick nap on my lunch hour, I felt like I went straight to REM and was having very vivid dreams. That's what was on my mind when I picked my UserID, wanting those dreams at night!

Simple.......................that's how I'd look when I saw myself in the mirror in the morning...........and much of the day. (but that is slowly changing, so maybe someday I will change my User ID.)
