Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
It has come off the hose every night the last 3 nights. Fortunately, this morning it happened right when my alarm went off, so I didn't lose any sleep. Is there a solution other than buying a new mask to fix this issue?

Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
there is a small white connector between the hose and the silicon frame. Maybe that needs replacing?
Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
If it's actually the hose that's lost tension on the dreamwear... then just wrap a rubber band around the end of the hose to give it more grip...

I have had a similar problem with the hose "Boot" becoming too loose. I now use a small automotive hose clamp and firmly tighten it around the "Boot" and it never slips off.

Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
We need to know what is coming loose. Is the white connector popping out of the Dreamwear headgear? Or is the cpap hose popping off the white connector?
If the hose is coming off the white connector, might be time for a new hose with better tension.

Heated hose by chance?
Sometimes that rubber coupling gets stretched out a bit...and that little white connector piece was never extremely snug fitting anyway so the end result is it won't stay in the long hose.
You can do a temporary fix by simply wrapping a couple of layers of tape around the part of the white connector that goes into the long hose so that if is snug....or you can clamp that rubber end down a bit with a hose clamp.
Any number of potential temporary fixes but the long hose needs to be replaced if you aren't happy with a temporary fix.
I have the DreamWear myself....it fits very loose at the long hose connection.
I have the heated hose...the only mask that fits borderline too lose at the hose to mask connection is the DreamWear.
Doesn't take much stretching out of that rubber to make it not stay put.

Make sure you are using the connector properly...It is a quick connect. Once the hose is connected to the white connector, it should not have to come off. It is the connector that connects to the mask...not the hose. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-dre ... cpap-elbow

Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
I believe that the issue is that the hose is losing it's grip. Some do that sooner than others.
My first hose did that, I just wrapped some string tightly around the end, and it was fine.
Others have used a rubber band on the outside of the hose end.

You can also zip tie the end

You can do a lot of things.. heh, I prefer something that's not going to be rough and scratchy... I can't *imagine* having a metal hose clamp on there... that sounds like a bloody accident waiting to happen.

Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
Agreed, and yeah, definitely not a metal clamp. If it doesn't scratch your hand or the arm, it will most likely mess up your pillow haha
As Pugsy mentioned, taping the plastic end should be ok

Re: Dreamwear has lost tension on hose - need help
I used to make custom fishing rods with my grandfather... and when you wrap the guides onto the pole, he'd use a specific technique. he'd start by tucking the end of the string under the next few wraps of the thread, then he'd make a loop out of some spare thread, and wrap that loop in by continuing to wrap... then at the end, he'd tuck the end of the wraps through the loop, and yank it back under the wraps... so you'd end up with a nice wrap of thread, and no ends...turbo wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 6:12 pmAgreed, and yeah, definitely not a metal clamp. I did the same thing on the end of my hose, and it lasted for a couple years, and there wasn't anything to snag or catch on anything.
Since that's probably not a good explanation, here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq3aK9zhyus
