How is N30i for active side sleepers

Just as it says... I'm all over the bed, flopping from side to side all night, very little time on my back. I LOVED the Dreamwear, but I couldn't keep it stable throughout the night. I'm hoping the N30i has solved the stability issues.

Disclaimer: I fully understand that mask fit and performance is a very individual thing. It has helped in the past to hear other's experiences though.

Have you tried superglue?

I keep suggesting it, nobody's tried it, as far as I know.... :sigh:

YMMV but with 4 nights under the N30i, I'm pretty darn happy!

I'm a pretty active sleeper, normally left/right/back/then sometimes almost over on my stomach (LOL!) and with very few exceptions, the cushion has stayed put surprisingly well. The only time I've had an issue if if I really bury my nose deep in the pillow, but not much is going to work in that case regardless. Note that I did notice that if I dislodged the mask and developed a small leak, it was very difficult to get it resealed under pressure, unlike the other masks/pillows I've used.

Note that I don't have a long history with PAP therapy (just approaching a month) but I've tried the P10 and N20 previously and just grabbed the N30i shortly after it became available in the US.

That sounds promising! I think that's going to be the next one I try. The Brevida was a big bust.

I'm also a side sleeper that moves a lot...gave the N30i a shot, didn't end up working for me. I had to have it too tight to avoid leaks, and then the hard plastic part of the cushion bothered me. So I'm back to the Swift FX. I can have the FX looser and still get a good seal, and the nasal pillow part is soft and comfortable for sleeping on my side. Liked the venting on the N30i better, though, not as aggressive of a stream as the FX, more spread out. So it goes.

I'm a side sleeper, but I'm only an "active" side sleeper when I'm not breathing well.

I was fitted with N30i at my DME provider today and, although you can't know how things will go based on a fitting, this looks promising.
The N30i seals better than my DreamWear mask, it is more natural to breathe through (no Darth Vader effect), and it feels like there is barely anything on my head.
In fact, the N30i feels like less on my face than my P10 pillows.

I'm looking forward to seeing how tonight goes.

I'll relate my experience, even though anything mask related varies so much person to person - it's almost a waste of time.

The N30i works great for me side sleeping. Any position really. I don't sleep on my stomach.

The thing I feel I must point out is that it's like resmed used my nose to design the small cushion. On the sizing template, my nose *just* fit inside the small boundaries. And I can't imagine a more perfect fit. This is certainly not going to be the case for everyone.

I'll also point out that I'm bald, and the accordianed area of the headgear leaves me looking like a tractor drove over the top of my head in the morning. I'm lucky in that these track marks vanish pretty quickly so far. This section of the headgear gives it some elasticity (genius), so the top of the headgear gently snugs up to my head, keeping it from sliding around. Again, this is the case for my size head.

The quick-disconnect tabs for the hose are great also. IMO, there's a lot to like about this mask.

I use the Dreamwear with a $12 Amazon.com hose hanger and it works well. No flopping around with the hose and I can turn over side to side. I plan to try the N30i. My only complaint with the Dreamwear is the straps on the back slide up during the night.

I am new here but per my usual I will just jump in.
I just got the N30i and after about 6 other types of masks (Have the Resmed 10 W humidifier) I can finally get some sleep. I tend to fall asleep on my side, but wake up with my face crammed into the pillow, fully on my tummy. All the other masks made this impossible. While sleeping I will turn over as one nostril will plug at some point so I roll over to see if it will drain and reopen. Because of this, and tenderness in the nose area the other 'pillows' did not work well for me.

The one issue I have with the N30i is that I am getting acne around the nose. But, it has happened with all the other masks or headgear; acne or indents that over a matter of a few days turn into sores.

I have pretty long hair and someone mentioned the headgear pulling their hair. I got an old fashioned "Doo" rag and wrap my hair in that before bed (found mine on Amazon, the one that is stretchy works best for me, but it snags. A silk one will not snag but does not move with your hair and if you have a lot like me that can be a complication). After a few weeks it has some snags on it from the headgear but not once has my hair been pulled. I figure this lack of bedtime fashion won't count against me as much as the pain or the broken hair.

I find the headgear/top of the head hose attachment location much easier to deal with than the front of the face. With other masks/pillows I fought my hose all the time, now it is if it was not there at all. I figure it saved me a few $$ as now I don't need the holder I was contemplating purchasing.

Background; I went misdiagnosed for over 2 decades; I don't fit the normal standard for Apnea (obstructive). I am neither male, overweight (BMI is now 21, but 25 years ago I was a good 25 lbs lighter and a runner), nor have any of the other 'usual' indicators. The Air Force took my sleep issues and named them "spontaneous panic attacks"; I would wake up in the middle fo the night not able to breathe in a complete panic. I was given the usual plethora of anti anxiety and depression meds which, when combined with the lack of energy due to the Apnea, caused me to put on a ton of weight. I believe this exacerbated my issues. Years later, I took myself off the unhelpful meds (amazingly they never helped any of my symptoms) and worked my ass of - literally. I am not back to my Air Force weight of 115 at 5'4" but a not too heavy weight of 145 and told that is still heavy but not enough for Apnea. The VA went ahead and did the test after a few years of my pestering and begging them, but the insurance company still denied payment. Lucky for me the VA ignored the insurance company. I am told I am a mild case (but the sleep study night was the best sleep I had had in quite some time, not sure why), but the change after only 5 months has been nothing short of miraculous! My equipment shows I still have events and the number has not really changed from what was recorded during the test, but I am dreaming for the first time in over 20 years. I almost feel new. Amazing to stay awake at work....(well, sort of)

Anyway, just a few things I have found with the N30i mask. I really like it.
