Leaking after turning over

Post by Mhala » Fri Jan 25, 2019 9:01 am

I have had the CPAP machine for 6 weeks now. I started out with the mask that just covered the nose but it would only work when I was lying on my back and I was only getting 3 hours of sleep a night. I cannot sleep on my back and when I would turn over on my side I couldn't get it to quit leaking. So my provider sent a Nasal Mask with Under the Nose Cushion, which they said was for side sleepers. It has been a great improvement. The problem is that I wake up several times during the night to turn over and every time I turn, the mask leaks and makes a loud wind sound. I have to keep trying to reposition it until the leak is small enough that the noise doesn't keep me awake. As a result, I still do not feel well rested.

hello, mhala and welcome aboard. i'm no expert, but it MAY be that you don't have your mask fitted properly. if you want, you can go to you tube and search for your mask and look for any fitting videos they may have there.

also, you may have to start sleeping on the very edge of your pillow so as not to dislodge your mask.

experts who actually use your type of mask will be along shortly.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
