Police: argument over snoring led to assault

WILMINGTON -- An argument over loud snoring led to a Texas man stabbing his motel roommate, police said in a release.

Guillermo Moreno-Vasquez, 54, was arrested about 5 a.m. Wednesday after police were called to the Budget Hotel, 4903 Market St., for a report “that a man came to the front desk with a large knife covered in blood,” the release said.

Police said a 27-year-old man suffered injuries that were not life threatening.

The men were bunking together at the motel while working for a Texas construction company on a job in Wilmington, the release said.

“Early Wednesday morning the pair got into an argument about loud noises/someone’s snoring throughout the night, which led to the stabbing,” the release said.

Moreno-Vasquez was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill.
