Spike in events per hour

Post by Docbondo » Thu Sep 06, 2018 11:07 am

Hi Im new this forum so Howdy!
Question.
I have been using CPAP for about 14 years. I am on my second ResMed machine. My current machine is an Airsense 10 which is a huge improvement from my last machine.
Lately I have been having strange events per hour readings. I can go for 4 or 5 nights and have fewer than 5 events per hour. Then i'll have a night where the reading spikes to 10 or 12 events per hour.
Question: What am I doing wrong? Does anyone else have this kind of thing happening to them? Feedback is hoped for here.
Thanks
Mike

What model Airsense 10? There are 3. What mask are you using? Are you using software to monitor your therapy? What classification are the events? What is your pressure setting? How about some information if you want help.

If you've gained even a little weight lately it might be responsible... as could new meds, different sleep times, other physical conditions newly affecting you, etc. etc.

The sticky is gone. I haven't seen it for several days.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Check the pulldown at the bottom of the page.. if I change mine from "display all topics" to a shorter number of days, then it doesn't show the sticky... just stuff within the last day, or week, or ...

This is what PR is talking about.

This is what I see:
So the sticky is still there and most newbies will see it unless they go in and change the defaults in the user control panel for board preferences. The default is for all posts.

If you don't need to see it...it hurts nothing for you to have it not show up but it's there and you can still tell people to read it even if you don't see it. Pretty much everyone else will be seeing it unless they change the preferences to a shorter time frame in terms of age of a thread or post.

Thanks! I wondered about it, but didn't see anybody else asking about it. I wondered if my computer was doing something weird.

Hi. Sorry that I didn't read all the newbie stuff first. Please accept my apology.
So again, Night before last I spiked 17.8 events per hour while the previous night was at 1.2 and the night after was 1.5.
I'm currently using an Airsense 10 set at 9.0 with an Amaraview full face with head gear. And yes the air sense 10 has it's own humidifier which is set at 4. I have not changed any Meds. I always am in bed with my mask on by 10:30PM and I awaken every AM between 6 and 6:30.
My weight is up about 4 pounds (and I'm fighting the ever hard battle to get back down. I am a side sleeper.
This spiking thing is a new phenomenon and is disconcerting to me.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

Also, since i'm new to this forum, I am intrigued by the software that tracks the data. I use a MAC. I do have an SD card in the machine for the Dr. But I think it's probably a windows thing. Is there a way to do both???
I'd love to be able to see my charts.

Thanks
Mike

*sigh* READ THE NEWBIE STUFF FIRST!

What you're asking is covered in there.

Absolutely no sarcasm, just exasperation.

You "apologize" for not reading the newbie stuff, and then ask questions that are covered in the newbie stuff, indicating you still haven't read, AND FOLLOWED, it.
