newly pierced ears with head gear?

Hi, new to the forum! I accidentally let the holes for earrings in my earlobes close up, so I had my ears repierced today. I did not think about the fact that this might be a problem with my headgear (snags and germs, for example). Has anyone had their ears newly pierced while using headgear, and if so, what did you do? For tonight, I'm just going to put some gauze and medical tape over the earrings, but I hope to figure out a better plan (since I'll have to do whatever I choose for 4-6 weeks). Thanks all!

Does your mask usually slip around your head and touch your ears? If it does- then yes, tape those puppies up. If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

Use Polysporin on them when you're up.

Thanks! Yeah, I decided that I'll be covering my ears every night. Hopefully it doesn't change any of the healing process, but I figure if they take a little longer, better than an infection. I received some cleaning solution with the piercing, so I'm using that as directed!
