Encore pro compatability

Post by Davidmcc » Wed Mar 02, 2005 7:14 pm

I am seriously considering purchasing Encore Pro. However, my operating system is Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 "upgrade" installed. Although the brochure relating to Encore Pro indicates it is compatible with XP Pro, it does not refer to XP Home. The SP2 "upgrade" is also notorious for having caused compatabilty problems with many programs. Do any users of Encore Pro have XP Home or Pro with SP2 installed and, if so, have they had any problems with the installation or operation of Encore Pro?

I have had no problems with installation or operation of the software using XP home SP2 or XP Pro.

It installed just fine on Windows XP Pro with SP2. I'm working hard on a detailed review of Encore Pro (including examples of the charts, etc) for cpaptalk.com. I hope to complete it this weekend...

I got mine in January and installed it with no problems on XP home w/sp2 - same thing you've got. I haven't had any problems (once I figured out where everything was and what to click to get the info I wanted.)

Thank's for the responses; they have been most helpful. Now to persuade my wife, I really need this.

Davidmcc,

Keep in mind to use the software in Australia you have to read the graghs up-side-down

Hi Muck,

It's not that you just have to turn it upside down, you have to also read it from right to left.

Anyway, you will not believe what just happened! I was about to order the card reader and software from CPAP-COM but thought I would get a price from my local supplier.

They quoted me $210 CAN for the reader and $780 for the software although they said may be able to do better as they have never actually ordered one for a customer. He suggested they may be able to provide the software for about $200 CAN.

Told him not to bother as I would just order from CPAP.COM and told him the price. He was amazed!

He then called me back after speaking to the mfg rep and they will let me have the reader and latest software for $210 CAN. So I ordered it.

I keep getting the distinct feeling that this whole industry needs more awareness and hopefully more up front competition. My supplier said he pays more for the Breeze mask than what CPAP is selling them for.

I am looking forward to getting this tool as will be meeting with my sleep MD for the first time since he ordered the titration - actually this was the only time I saw him, only for a very short time and have not spoken to him since. Cannot wait to show him my diagnoses and results so thanks to those posters who are providing the info on how to read the results.

Most appreciated!!! Upsidedown, backwards or whatever!

Be glad you don't live in the UK

A couple of months ago I called the UK distributor for Respironics (Profile Respiratory Systems)
1) They didn't know you could get the Remstar Auto with c-flex
2) The auto without c-flex with h/humidifier was £550 (approx US$ 1,050)
3) They could let me have the card reader for £220 (approx US$420), but couldn't tell me if that included the software
