PAP Filter Alternatives for Resmed S10 and S9s + F&P Eson

I’m astonished at the price of replacement PAP filters!
I replace my PAP filter every-other-week-or-so. Depending on color change, dust particle accumulations (or not), it’s a quick change-out. I do keep my household quite dust-free and dust my bedroom every week to so. That said, I do find the cost of replacement filters (size: 2 1/8" x 1 7/16”) quite expensive from my DME and even Amazon. Currently amazon has a 20-pack for $11 that’s the cheapest I’ve seen. My DME sells the same package of 20 for $20. I also wear an F&P Eson head gear which uses a similar-material filter, but quite smaller, for the nose-bridge diffuser - and the replacements for those are astronomical.

A few months back, while shipping at Home Depot (I live in the US). I found this package (see picture) in the home AC filter isle. Vent Filters, customizable, for $4, package of 12-filter sheets (size each: 4” x 12”). I observed how similar the filter sheets were to the very expensive PAP and diffuser replacements. $4 couldn’t hurt. Guess what? They work. Do note these sheets are a ‘hint’ thinner than the OEM replacements. Each sheet makes 14 filters for the pap - and numerous for the nasal diffuser. I have been using these since, with no problems and no changes to machine noise and overall performance. Now filter change-out can be affordable. Give it a try!

The filters are there to protect your XPAP, can you save enough of junk homemade wrong media filters to pay for a new XPAP, and after that trash goes thru your XPAP, your lungs get to trap it, breath deeply! Jim

There is a reason the edges are SEALED on cpap filters. Inhaling filter fibers into my lungs probably isn't a good idea.
