EPAP

Post by AkaNina » Thu Jan 04, 2018 9:03 pm

I just can't adjust to wearing my cpap machine. I've faithfully used it for over 9 months - can't tell any difference in the way I feel and my AHI levels average around 5 wearing it. At the sleep study my AHI levels were only 5.4. I am so discouraged. So, I have been doing research AGAIN trying to find an alternative and read about the Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure Device or EPAP. Has anyone else tried this?

download sleepyhead and put some charts up for members to give opinions on. also get the clinical manual from apneaboard while you are there. http://www.apneaboard.com/sleepyhead
generally you would want the min pressure epap peep. to be 2cm under your 90% pressure, which I think the machine will show you on the screen?

If this is what you are referring to, I don't see this replacing CPAP

As ajack says, without the data we have nothing but guessing. Experience tells me that if the forum could see you data then we could help you. The three links below explain how to share your data. Help Is available.

I read about that thing and it got very mixed reviews... doesn't do half of what it claims.

Well, that's why. tune it to your needs, and get that AHI to a better level.
