SleepyHead newbie here.
I just did my first upload into sleepyHead, and as I read would happen, my AirSense 10 is a brick =). Soon I should be getting an AirCurve though, which upon googling, it seems others are using with SleepyHead successfully. So my real learning will begin then. This thread will be where I ask my questions, of which I am certain there will be several.

My first questions are about RDI. Please tell if all the following are true:
1. AHI will always be less than or equal to RDI.
2. A person with an excellent AHI may not have an excellent RDI.
3. If I change my preferences between AHI and RDI as my "major preferred event index" in SleepyHead, I need to then "rebuild data" in order to see some different graphs.
4. Doing this "rebuild data" will not cause a loss of data in sleepyHead or on the SD card itself, so long as I didn't change any settings I shouldn't have. (As far as I know I haven't, and I won't.)
5. Is it true that sleepyhead really can calculate an RDI? If I understand correctly, doing this means that the machine must be able to detect actual arousals from sleep. I am skeptical about this. Like I could be breathing with my CPAP, and as far as the machine is concerned, it seems to me everything would look normal. And yet, I am conscious of feeling short of breath. Once in a while I might take a deep breath for this reason. But not necessarily.

Re: RDI questions
4) SH does pre-processing of the contents of your SD card when it's doing importing, so that it can display/zoom/scan/flip pages quicker when viewing. It also makes a backup of the data it cares about from the SD card, when you "rebuild data" you're redoing that pre-processing.metallikat36 wrote:4. 5) SH does RDI from rera flags in the data placed there by the machine... which is simple, reras/hours, just like ahi is apneas+hypo/hours. As to how the machine 'detects'(guesses at) reras...
