A couple of odd readings:
Last night before going to bed—well, actually it was about 3 a.m. this morning when I was going to bed—I happened to look at the data on the machine's LED screen. It showed AHI 10 and no therapy hours* for one day. Also, the 7-day average didn’t mesh with the 10. (In ten years I’ve never had an AHI over 1.5.) I hadn’t looked at the SD card data yet and I don’t think I even checked the machine screen yesterday morning. I immediately took the card out and checked it in SH, which showed .36 AHI and about 5.5 therapy hours. Is this some kind of timing thing or is my machine doing something whacky? This morning’s numbers were fine and matched SH…except for LL and 90% pressure which leads me to my next questions…
The LL percentage on the machine now for last night shows 7%; SH shows 3.6%. (I know neither one of these is good, and I’m trying to figure it out.) The 90% pressure on the machine shows 10; in SH 9.5. (I normally have SH at 95%, but changed it to 90% to check this.)
I don’t expect things to match exactly, but the AHI 10 thing and no therapy hours* were weird, and the LL difference was not close.
Thoughts?
*EDIT: Julie pointed out that the machine's day is noon to midnight, so that accounts for the 0 usage. I had forgotten that. Thanks, Julie!

Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
You are aware that the machine starts counting at noon (to noon) rather than e.g. 6 to 6?
Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
Yes, I did know that, which, now that you mention it, would account for the 0 usage, but how would that explain the 10 AHI thing, which was not correct?Julie wrote:You are aware that the machine starts counting at noon (to noon) rather than e.g. 6 to 6?

Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
Someone else should be along soon (sorry!).
Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
Respironics machines are set to reset at Noon but noon GMT time...not necessarily noon where you are.
My "noon" at 12 PM CDT is actually I think 6 hours later than GMT ...I can't ever remember exactly.
My Respironics machine will reset for a new day at around 6 AM my time as long as I am not using the machine and if I am then it waits until I turn it off for a period of time...I think 15 minutes but I can't swear to it.
There's no clock in the Respironics machines that we can set to local time.
I have no idea why it would have retained an AHI of 10 though.
Unless it just happened to be from the last session. Sometimes if multiple sessions (on/off more than once during the night) get recorded the overall AHI is maybe skewed for some reason and looked worse than it is...like maybe a lot of SWJ flags or something.
Maybe you had a very brief last "session" that ended up with skewed AHI numbers which stayed in the memory until a new memory gets shown.
If SleepyHead shows things correctly now then I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
Thanks, Pugsy. I've never had a 10 AHI ever, not anywhere close. Right now the 7-day average on the machine is .3, which aligns with SH. Just chalk it up to one of those many mysteries in life!Pugsy wrote:Respironics machines are set to reset at Noon but noon GMT time...not necessarily noon where you are.

Re: Some odd readings...thoughts?
Here's the deal...if a person as a 10 minute session for some reason and 2 events during those 10 minutes the AHI will end up being 12 for that session...that's what I mean about sessions sometimes showing skewed numbers. The machine converts partial hours into hours and extrapolates things. We used to call it Respironics math because it comes up with some real weird stuff.
At any rate...blame my favorite go to scape goat...aliens.

Hey, aliens, I'll go with that!Pugsy wrote:Here's the deal...if a person as a 10 minute session for some reason and 2 events during those 10 minutes the AHI will end up being 12 for that session...that's what I mean about sessions sometimes showing skewed numbers.
