I have had my cpap and humidifier for a week now, and I'm pretty pleased. I am still a little puzzled by the humidifier. It has different settings on it. I have tried a 2 and a 4. My question is, since it is heated, should I feel that the air is heated, or is turning the number up higher just giving me more humidification?
M Series Humidifier
you will get very little (if any) warmth of the air from the heated humidifier, it seems warmer because the air contains more moisture the higher you turn it up.
If you turn it up too high water will form in the hose and condense causing rainout. In that case you turn the humidifier to the lower number or off. In the off position, the humidifier will be in passover mode still deliver moisture but not as much.
If your room temperature is cold (less than 68F) you might want to consider the aussie heated hose. It will warm the cpap air without adding extra moisture.

cabhoney,
I'm pretty new at this, but I can tell you that I had my respironics on 5 and had rainout. Back at 3 seemed good. Anyway, you should feel some of the warmth the higher you go. Take steps for rainout though if you're turning it high. It's comfortable, but you have to follow rainout steps outlined in this forum. Good luck!

Actually, whether or not one has rainout is not only a function of the type of humidifier and it's setting and of the mask/interface type being used ... but also of the ambient relative humidity and temperature of the room ... which varies around the world and throught the year. So rainout is an issue for some some of the time, an issue for some all of the time, and an issue for some none of the time.storminnormin wrote:cabhoney,

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
