I'll be going to bed shortly, but while I'm awake, my spam button will be active.

I got several of them. Least they weren't in the quantity and speed as before. Back then, I gave up.

I just spent a while deleting all that were above the first legitimate thread. As soon as I started deleting below that thread, more spam started popping up at the top.

I had to give up because I need to get to work.

The posts are coming in about 1 every 2-3 minutes. Until I get busy, I can sit here and just delete each one as it comes in. Once I leave though, they will begin to accumulate again.

I smacked a bunch this morning and now that we are caught up should be able to stay up easily enough. More members here now that it is morning.
I saw he got registered May 31...so one of the offenders back when but didn't get blocked for some reason or other.
I don't have to go anywhere for 3 or 4 hours so I can keep smacking and by then hopefully Carolyn can get him blocked.
He paused briefly around 6:45 but that was just to change text.

I could tell somebody was working with me! Thanks. I've got until 9:00 (EST) then I have to get some work done. I've been whacking them as they come in but somebody else will need to take over at 9:00!

I don't see kellylavender logged on anymore and no more new posts so hopefully someone from the admin has blocked him.
At least for now until he sneaks in a new ID and re-registers.

we need a script to help us automate it faster with fewer clicks
or a bulk selection and then one click
if several people pick the same posts they go byebye
and that would guard against someone mis clicking and getting a valid one
Won't happen, but sounds good. It ignores the main problem, server system resources waste. Jim

=======

you could have fooled me
i thought it was hiding the real messages

and a script on our pcs to automate deletion wont waste server

the writers forum has a one day delay before anyone can post
manual approval blocks the spam like lavender
The spam posts, are first stored on the site servers, them we access the post, them we delete the post, then the site adm clears it off the server. All this effort causes wear and tear on the servers and eats up bandwith, making the site slower and increasing costs.

The only thing we as users can do to correct the problem is to report the problem. Jim

You did delete that post, and the new thread it started.
Once a post is deleted, the admin has to identify the spammer to shut them off.
This is why I started this thread--to help get rid of this lavender pest.
