Adjustments

Post by passx » Tue Feb 22, 2005 7:05 pm

I have a Remstar-Pro that is set to 14cm and got a Remstar-Plus as a new machine a few months ago that is set to 20cm. The problem is the higher pressure and I believe that the PLus is a straight CPAP while the Pro is a BPAP. I'm relatively new to all of this and have been using the Pro at 14cm for about 3 years with a Mirage full face.

The problem is that the Remstar-Plus at the higher pressure is intolerable and had caused me to have pain in my lungs I assume because of the higher pressure and trying to exhale against it. So my question is this, is there a procedure some place that would tell me how to adjust the pressure on my Pro to the proper levels ? I received the Plus model in October and only used it for 1 week before abandoning it and the supplier Gentiva/Rotech has been useless and unwilling in helping since they are in Texas and I am in Indiana. Any help out there ?

passx,

Something doesn't add up in you post. Why would you be switching for a bipap at 14cm to a cpap at 20cm? Are you sure you don't have the REMstar pro cpap. If so why would you jump down to the Plus model?
Sincerely,

From what I have read, both machines, the plus and pro are cpap...
