SilverLining Software

Post by gailzee » Wed Feb 16, 2005 4:17 pm

In an effort to monitor my progress I installed the above software. But when I hit the wall on entering my own data, I needed tech support. Called PB, and was partly way thru, when I was asked by the techie, ''what co.'''was I with.
I said none, he said CAN"T HELP YOU. This is only supposed to be downloaded by a dr., RT, DME. I said then why can consumers BUY IT? Any ideas?

Because, they're happy to take your MONEY, they just aren't quite so happy to have you know how to make use of it.

It's all part of the conspiracy.

Agt. Fox Liam?

Now don't tell me your wife is Dana Scully or I'm really going to be Jealous.

(Don't answer that)

I know... Liam, whose wife is much smarter and prettier than Gillian Anderson could ever be.
Sincerely,

Hi Gailzee,

I have the same software, but it never occurred to me to try and enter my own data. Who else is going to use my copy of the software, my apap, and my pc?

Just to see if I could figure it out and help a damsel in distress, I fired up silverlining, clicked on the "patient analysis" line, and then clicked on the file "R blah blah blah.pat" containing the data I had downloaded from my apap. I clicked on "patient information" tab, then clicked on the button that contained a wrench and screwdriver, and a window popped up that seemed to allow me to enter my own data.

Good luck!

thank you Bob. I will try what you suggest and go from there. I got pretty much that far, but when I tried to input my own ''name" (as if I don't know who else is using MY machine !) I hit a stump. So I made the big no no and called PB. CPAP.Com is quite correct, this is all supposed to be MD or RT installed, generated. What I'd like to know is, any DME/RT I know, the one I had anyway, did not even know the software existed.

But I will keep trying and can follow your instructions!
Thank you.......

Software Situation

Post by johnnygoodman » Thu Feb 17, 2005 2:30 pm

Howdy,

You are not the only one to wonder why the Manufacturers have this policy. We wonder as well. We're going to be asking the Executives of these companies about it when we attend the Medtrade Spring conference. Hopefully, our reasons for them to support the software will affect their company policies.

Johnny,
It seems that all of the manufacturers could do well to offer a "Lite" version of their software for end-users. For example Encore Pro is way too much for a single user, and is obviously targeted for clinics. All we want is to monitor compliance and sleep session data.

derek,

You are right about the Encore Pro software. The problem is that the DME manufacturers don't see you and I as their customer. They should take a cue from the pharmaseutical industry and market to the end user.

Johnny,

Please use your highly successful company as an example of the huge potential of the direct to consumer market. If manufacturers are looking to develop brand recognition and loyalty, marketing to the end user will be much more sucessful than supporting the DME supply industry that would prefer to keep their clientele in the dark.
Sincerely,
