I finally got the Encore Pro and card reader after being on cpap for 3 months. I had no problems at all with installation or operation. My results for only 1 night (I was too curious to save a week's worth of info) are: AHI 1.0, Avg. AHI 2.0, Snore index 1.0, and average mask leak 34.878. I love all of the numbers except for the mask numbers. I am surprised at the high number, if in fact is is a high number. Is it? Could someone give me some feedback? Thanks!!
First report with Encore Pro 1.6

Your mask leak, though it could be lower, is certainly acceptable.
But tell me, with ONE night's data, how is it that your AHI is 1.0 and your average AHI is 2.0????

Re: First report with Encore Pro 1.6
Missy, all your numbers look good, including the leak rate. That's not a bad leak rate. Remember, there will always be a normal amount of deliberate leak...from the exhaust vent holes on every mask. Some masks have a higher "normal" leak rate than others.
By the way, the leak rate doesn't necessarily mean "mask" leak. It can be ANY kind of leak -- from mask, from mouth, from a hole in the hose, from a loose connection. The machine has no way to know what is causing the leak when it records the leak rate. Almost always it's from mask or mouth, but can be air escaping at any point between the person and the machine.

I'm guessing it's Respironics' "math" in the Encore Pro.GoofyUT wrote:But tell me, with ONE night's data, how is it that your AHI is 1.0 and your average AHI is 2.0????
