humidifier issues
I've been using a Phillips machine for about 1 1/2 yrs. In the last couple of months, for the second time, the water level in the heated humidifier chamber barely drops. Normally a full chamber lasts 2 days. I haven't knowingly changed the settings, and the heater seems to be working. The first time this happened, I cleaned out the tube and mask and the problem disappeared for 2 weeks. I'm not convinced that this was the problem, but just a coincidence. I'm using one of those minimal masks that just is under the nostrils. Any clues?
Re: humidifier issues
If local climate is wet to begin with, the machine won't use much water.
Re: humidifier issues
Has it been raining much lately?
Mine will do that when it's been rainy and the ambient humidity is fairly high. They have sensors in them that figure out what the ambient humidity is and decide how much, if any, water they need to add to the cpap air to make it whatever setting you have chosen.
I normally use almost all the water each night but on rainy nights I barely use any. Especially if the temp has been moderate and I have the windows open so the house ambient humidity has been higher than usual.
Now it wouldn't be impossible for the machine to develop a problem with the humidifier and if the problem persists and can't blame in on ambient humidity then you need to contact whoever you got the machine and humidifier from. These machines have a 2 year warranty and you don't want to wait past the warranty period is up if at all possible.

Re: humidifier issues
Yes, raining it has been (in Yoda speak). I will watch that. Thanks!
Re: humidifier issues
Outside temperature and humidity.. we don't know where you are located, but, as outside temperature and humidity increases, the amount of humidity produced by your CPAP decreases. The room air that your CPAP is pulling in has more moisture in it.findingzzero wrote:I've been using a Phillips machine for about 1 1/2 yrs.
