New Dreamstation- hate it

I've been on CPAP therapy for almost four years. It's has largely been unsuccessful. I rarely have a night with AHI below 12, and it's usually in the upper teens and 20's. Doctor switched me to a Dreamstation a few days ago. I was excited to get this machine hoping I would finally see some relief. The first three nights with it have been absolutely awful. AHI has been 27, 21, and 32. I feel worse than I ever did with CPAP. Anyone else have a similar experience to this that could offer some advice.

Why not? Which version of SH did you try? What is the operating system on your computer?

Exactly which DreamStation model did you get? What are the 3 digits after the DSX part of the model number?

What is the operating system on your computer?
Which version of SH did you try on your computer?

I can maybe get you something else to use in terms of software but I need to know what kind of computer you have and what the operating system is.

It's going to be imperative that we know the breakdown of that AHI you are seeing and we need the software for that.
If nothing else....use the online DreamMapper POS program.

The Windows version shown 1.0.0 Beta 2 will work on Windows 7 and it's the only SH version that will work with the DreamStation.
So if you tried an older version...it won't work with your machine.

What is the IPAP max setting? If it is 14 then that's your problem...the machine can't go higher than 14 and it needs to go higher to deal with the OAs and hyponeas you are having.

Without more details it's hard for me to know for sure what is missing but I suspect it might be this.

Click on the download button...then choose the middle file to download from the list of 3 you will see.
Let it download to your download folder and then go double click on it to install it. Don't try to direct it to SleepyHead when it installs. Just let it install to where Windows wants to put it. Once installed SH will know where to look for it.
This was a common issue with Windows 7 users...I had to do this myself.

I can get you Encore Pro to use with your Windows 7 but it's a major PITA to install and use.
We can give it a go if you can't get SH up and running.
I will send you a private message in a little bit with a link to Encore Pro...and it's the only Encore version that will work with the DreamStation.

PS is just pressure support or a fancy term for the difference between inhale and exhale pressures.
With the IPAP max set to 14 the machine couldn't ever really go up with the other settings and I am sure it wanted to.
The change to 18 might be enough...don't know until you see what happens...might need more IPAP max.

What is the exact message you are getting when you try to open SH? Where are you at when you get the message?

And are you trying to open SH from within the download zipped folder or are you using the installed to desktop Bob the Sheep Icon?

Did you unzip SH and then do the install procedure?

It installs but when I try to open it says "incompatible graphics hardware".
