New Transcend Auto User - Need Help

Post by jim2016fl » Sat Jan 07, 2017 8:18 pm

I purchased a new Transcend Auto with a Opus Nasal Pillow Mask. I've never had a CPAP device and once I put on the mask and turn the unit on, the air pressure is so significant that I cannot exhale and then the machine shuts off. I've checked the hose, mask, and settings of the software and the machine doesn't adjust the set pressure which is an 8. No LED lights flash before it shuts off. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cannot call Somnetics until Monday and leaving for Japan Monday first thing which is why I bought it.

Are you sure there's no exhale relief feature on your machine - others often have settings. But I agree that 8 is a relatively modest level to have problems with and I wonder if it's just a matter of getting used to it.

The pressure settings, ramp, and exhale relief (EZEX) are in the clinician area of the Somnetics Sleep Anea Therapy software:

The relevant information starts on page 19

To get into the clinician menu, you need the password, which is easy to find with Google.

Something missing in between these 2 statements.

May I ask why you need this if you never had a cpap before?
