POWER OUTAGE

Post by NOTSLEEPING » Fri Jan 06, 2017 2:29 pm

Hi there, we experienced a power cut last night - only a few hours. Afterwards my husband's machine simply would not turn on. I am wondering if the power cut did something to the machine - as prior to that it was going beautifully. Has this happened to anyone else?

Please do the following:
1. Check all fuses and circuit breakers (including any power strips that you might be using).
2. Check that all plugs between the wall and the CPAP are securely inserted (disconnect and reconnect).
3. Check that the machine is dry (except for the water tank).
4. Check that any switch is in the off position before trying to turn in on.
5. Check that all doors are closed and that the humidifier is firmly fastened to the machine (if applicable).

Try unplugging it for a minute. He may be lucky to get the machine to reboot. Good luck, Earl

Also try plugging it in at another socket...possible damage to the socket

Agree with this. My machine has got "confused" at times and wouldn't start even though I could see the lights were on. I've unplugged it then plugged it back in and it reset itself and started up and run fine. Hopefully this is all you need to do.

This is why we advocate for users plugging their machines into UPS (battery backup) devices or at the very least into a surge protector outlet strip.

IMO the easiest way to determine if the outlet is working is to plug something else into it, instead of running to the fusebox. I use a nite lite, easy to carry or move around. Then you know if you have to run to the fuse (should be a breaker) box, check the machine power cords for a solid connection or move the machine to another outlet.

Always wise to have a 12V battery and the DC power cord that fits your machine. Let's face it, you don't wait until you see flames to go out and buy a fire extinguisher -- or do you?
