nose irritation from CPAP

Post by flobiwan » Thu Dec 08, 2016 6:34 am

I have been using a CPAP with nasal pillows for over 10 years and have never had a problem. Last night, after about an hour, i woke up with pain in my left nostril in the upper area whenever i breath in from the CPAP. It wasn't terrible but it kept me from sleeping so i had to sleep without the mask. I also noticed my nose was runny when i took the mask off. The pain feels almost like there is a sensitive blood vessel at the surface ready to burst. I haven't bled though. But even now, occasionally i get a sharp pulsation of pain in that upper nostril for a second. I recently changed the mask, hose and filter.

Does this sound like something to be concerned about? I do tend to have chronic sinus problems, especially at this time of year but i was curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this with their CPAP.

Time to see a ENT, my son had to get a blood vessel in his nose cauterized, he had similar symptoms as u ...he said it was painless.
