Ok, the hair loss could be a lack of sufficient oxygen if you have apnea - many people have found that hair loss lessens once on Cpap, and there can also be other 'side effects' (good ones) of Cpap because of that, such as men finding ED problems resolving to an extent!

My non-incompetent doctor was the one who recommended getting the sleep study actually, I didn't think it could be apnea because I didn't snore much and I always thought it was my thyroid causing my issues but he said my levels were normal and it shouldn't be making me this tired during the day. So who knows! I will be going and getting the results today, I'm just super frustrated with this other doctor and why I can't seem to get the competent medical care that other people do. I shouldn't have to incessantly call a doctor or go in and get my results and try to interpret them myslef(what I've had to do several times with my regular blood tests for my thyroid). But enough is enough, I left them a bad review on yelp and they will be getting a mouthful from me today. Not sure how much it'll help but at least it's out there I the public now for people who choose to look into this practice. I WILL be getting a new doctor.

And I apologize if I came off rude or negative, I hadn't slept and was having a lot of anxiety about all this and I'm pms'ing lol which adds to the emotional levels and annoyance. But hopefully today I'll find out something useful and can get something going towards feeling like a normal human being again and get my life back.

Got the results!!! I do have obstructive sleep apnea but I didn't sleep enough for the double night study to get the cpap so I imagine I'm going to have to do it again with the machine? Blarg.. well at least there won't be AS much pressure to sleep this time. My doctor never called me btw, is this bad since I DO have apnea and he did not let me know?

Of course there will be...They can't titrate you if you are awake.

Hence why I said 'as'.. I now know that I have SA and the pressure is off to get a diagnosis.

Yep, the sleep study regime is two sided - diagnosis followed by titration. My titration study was awful (maybe 2 hours sleep) and while I mentally questioned the results I think they got quite close. I base this on what my current APAP settings which seem to be working. My recommended set pressure sits at the higher end of my APAP results.

If you had difficulty sleeping during the first test, it is likely you will again.
Ask your doctor to prescribe an APAP, so you can be titrated over several nights, AT HOME.
This way, if your pressure needs change over time, you can find your best pressure, "on the run".
