Resmed Airfit p10 nasal pillow - headgear pain!
I am using the medium size nasal pillow which is comfortable enough - i get slight soreness when i take the mask off in the morning but it's not bad. The problem is that the headgear, no matter how I manipulate it, causes the right side of my jaw and the right side of my head to hurt badly. I can feel immense pressure on the right side of my head by the cheek bone when I lay down, even if I lay down with the left side of my head on the pillow. I've followed the fitting guide and read the user manual. Do I need to stretch the headgear out somehow to loosen it up?

Yup.... just wet the head gear and give it a good stretch, or when wet hang it from the door knob with a weight at the end and it will stretch out. Most of us complain that it gets too stretched out just with use and we have to shrink it with hot water .

Thanks! It feels like a darn rubberband just conforming to my head applying pressure -- awful.nanwilson wrote:Yup.... just wet the head gear and give it a good stretch, or when wet hang it from the door knob with a weight at the end and it will stretch out. Are you using the blue/gray or the pink/gray color headgear?
The blue/gray is about 1 1/2 inch longer around so if you happen to be using the pink...you can buy larger.
Otherwise....yes, put it on something and stretch it out a bit.

how is the P10 putting any pressure *at all* on your jaw? perhaps the problem is something else.raisedfist wrote:I am using the medium size nasal pillow which is comfortable enough - i get slight soreness when i take the mask off in the morning but it's not bad. it's not direct pressure, i think maybe my jaw gets sore from keeping my mouth shut all night. maybe i am somehow fighting the urge to open my mouth when i sleep? when my apnea is treated i am not a mouth breather.palerider wrote: how is the P10 putting any pressure *at all* on your jaw? perhaps the problem is something else.
