Machine placement on headboard

Post by Mask Juice » Sun Jul 10, 2016 9:36 am

My better half & I flip sides of bed from time to time, so I want to put my machine in a box, mounted on top center of the headboard (so I don’t have to move the machine back & forth from nightstand to nightstand each time).
Our headboard has a flat surface on top.
As long as it doesn’t have a top to the box, good idea?
Any suggestions? Photos?

Edit: I have a ResMed AirSense™ 10 Elite CPAP with Humidifier

Thanks.
MJ

You're going to end up with rainout... condensation from the humidifier running into your mask. The set up should be at best level with your head or lower by a few inches.

Now that you you a CPAP machine I suggest that you stop this habit of flipping sides of bed from time to time.

Explain why you would suggest that.

As mentioned it is best to keep the cpap lower than your head when in use esp. when using the humidifier. I keep mine is a plastic bin on the floor which also prevents it from falling to the floor. Just need something so the cpap doesn't suck in fibers or dust from the carpet.

This would be a good excuse to stop flip flopping. I keep the same side even when we travel. Is there a reason you flip flop?

We flip flop as to ease the strain on our bodies. I tend to be big spoon & also have that side’s arm up under her pillow.

Also, currently, it sits on the nightstand and the hose runs behind & up & over the headboard & then down to me.

Is that okay? I'm a new user, obliviously.

Thanks again,
MJ

As far as I know a cpap machine should be placed lower than the bed, so putting it on a headboard above the bed may not be a good idea.

But more importantly you need your sleep and flipping sides of the bed with a mask attached to your face doesn't sound like a good idea.

You would probably have to take the mask off every time you flipped sides and interrupt your sleep.

I really think you should stop this habit of flipping sides.

Sorry, I didn't clarify it, but we only flip sides every few days when we first go to bed. Never flip during the night.

Sheesh

I definitely would rather be bed mates with mask juice than pumbany ... lol
...thank goodness we get to pick who we sleep with~~~

My guy recently installed a little shelf for me at one of the places I sleep.

In another frequently used location, I am using a crazy old school waterbed with the shelves headboard ...
I don't use humidity so I am guessing that is why I don't get 'rain out'?

I have however, recently tried Poster Den's suggestion of "passive humidity" where you just put the water in the machine and leave it.
Also, it is July in Florida and so I could use a sauna if I wanted to cool off. I assume real life is giving me tons of humidity.

*I* would be freaked out if I had to sleep over on the same side of a bed or even to have to sleep close to the edge unless it were a twin bed.
Center of the bed seems like the only possibility?

... but I am really new to this?
So my ideas are strictly instinctual ~~~
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

get a 10 foot hose, it'll reach from one side to the other.

Maybe I'm not the only person who can't stand you.
Stalking me in PM's will not change my mind.

didn't LOOK like a 'lady' in the video of a MAN speaking at toastmasters, but then, I consider the source of this comment.
