two months and finally making progress

Post by dusk_to_dawn » Tue Jul 05, 2016 8:43 am

Hi,

I've read and learned a lot from this blog. Thank You! What a caring bunch!

Since this is my first post, a little detail:
diagnosed with ~12AHI and using a dreamstation with humidifier. For the first two months I was using the mask that covered nose and mouth from resmed. F10 I think. The leaks would wake me up and tightening also caused pain which was a problem. AHI remained steady in the 8-11 area. I received a pillow p10 and used a chinstrap to keep my mouth closed. Within a couple of days it dropped from 8-11 to the 3-6 area. The excitement of the dropping #s has me looking for more. The advice may be to wait a bit more on any of the changes, but I figured I could still post some results. This first SH snap is with 8.5min and the P10.

After reading many posts, i bumped the minimum to 9.0 which knocked down Hypopnea

I thought I would then try min 9.5, which further knocked down Hypopnea but bumped up CA a bit.

The chinstrap/headgear that i use is uncomfortable, so I am going to try one of the cervical collars and some 3M micropore tape that I read about.

thanks in advance for your thoughts/ideas,
Tim

I like the DMI Universal Firm Foam Cervical Collars -
http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=DM ... %20Collars

The firm works better and lasts longer than the soft. There seems to be no loss in comfort with the firm over the soft.

The cells in the foam break down over time. One lasts me about four months.

Typically the 3-inch width fits a smaller person, and the 3.5-inch or 4.0-inch fits a larger person. Some may need to change the size up or down on the second order. The larger size you can wear, the more support to keep the jaw from dropping.

Walmart ships free to your closest store for customer pickup.
