Fired my old sleep doctor, after he told me a third time there is nothing else he can do for me and my daytime sleepiness. He would not entertain any suggestions, so I pulled a Donald Trump on him.
It took me a few weeks and some research but I finally a group that was rated as one of the top 10 best in my general area. I bit the bullet and called them. they accepted me with no referral and I had my first appointment on Monday of this week. The staff was knowledgeable and excellent. The doctor man I cannot put in to words how knowledgeable he was he was talking about augmentation and took me off Requip for a while and used Neurotin in the meantime and cut Klonopin in half. I still take the adderral but I am waking up felling better, and can actually go with out taking adderrall twice a day. I am hopeful for the first time in years and let me tell you that is a nice feeling to have. His record keeping is immaculate and he is not afraid to try new things, he said he was going to work with all my doctors to ensure the balance on medication is controlled and what it should be no more, no less. He stated by doing this we can start to identify if its a hangover or residual effect of the medication amounts I have been taken. Man what a feeling. I hope all that read this that are struggling remember never give up do not let sleep apnea, RLS, or any condition get the best of you. Take control and if your doctor don't like it give him or her the boot.
One last note is that I think I have a good team now, my GP is new as my old one retired, my cardiologist is the same and did a full work up on my heart because she wanted to make sure that my heart was fine since I had been so fatigued, and when I say I mean a full work up, EKG, 30 day event monitoring, Echo and Nuclear stress test. All was normal except my occasional extra heart beat. My psychiatrist and counselor are awesome, they have helped me get through the last several months and then of course there is my loving and understanding wife and son. I have to say I have it going on right now and hope the ball keeps rolling with good news and vibes.

Good job and good advice for others.sleepwiggler wrote:Take control...
I'll bet if you can cut back on and/or get rid of some of those meds (mentioned in another thread), you'll feel better.
