Full Face Mask Recommendations
I've been on CPAP for two weeks now and can confidently say as of last night I've now got a mask that works great for me in the form of the Dreamwear. I'm very pleased I've been able to accomplish that after only 2 weeks and reading this forum was a big help with that.
I have had a bad cold this week and last night was so congested I almost had to go without my mask. I don't want to ever be in that position, so now I want to choose a full face mask so that I have a backup mask if I'm too congested to breathe through my nose. What are the top 3 or so choices that are most popular here? In case it helps to know what currently works for me, I have a Resmed Mirage Softgel that I've found to be OK. Not great, but no major issues with it. I intend to exchange that with the DME towards whatever full face mask I get.
Thanks

If you go to cpap.com and look at their FF masks it shows how popular each one is. Since eveyone's face is different what is great for me may be terrible for you. Also...everyone who filled out their profile will have their mask shown.

Re: Full Face Mask Recommendations
You might look at the Respironics Amara View full face mask. It uses a nasal cradle similar to your DreamWear mask.

Some others are here..if you want something with nasal pillows you might look at the Innomed/Respcare Hybrid. If you want something more traditional that goes over the nasal bridge you might look at the ResMed AirFit F10.
https://www.cpap.com/cpap-masks/full-face-cpap-mask.php
I really don't have much personal experience with these full face masks other than I have used the Innomed Hybrid briefly. The Amara View is on my list to try just for grins at some time in the future.
I don't do well with any mask that comes across my nasal bridge area so I am not interested in trying any of those. In my over 6 years with this therapy I have yet to have a bad cold so bad that I couldn't get my nose opened up enough to at least start the night and I have found that cranking up the humidity actually helps my nose in terms of breathing when I have a cold. Think the hot steamy shower type of thing.
I could use the Innomed Hybrid if I had to though.

Re: Full Face Mask Recommendations
Thanks both of you. The idea of going with the Amara since the Dreamwear works for me is an interesting one. The good thing is that unlike with the main mask I don't feel any imperative that it be the best one possible for me, as long as it's pretty good I'll be happy, since it should be rare that I have to wear it.

Re: Full Face Mask Recommendations
I am also totally sold on the DreamWear mask and I had a lot of difficulty finding a mask that would work for me. Finding a mask that works is so personal because of all the differences in size and shape of our faces, not to mention what we each can and cannot tolerate. So, just to tell you my experience and not try to convince you what is right for you
I have issues with masks not fitting correctly at the bridge of my nose - either they give me sores or they simply won't seal at all. I tried the Amara View and I do like it but it doesn't fit me well enough to be happy. I had leakage at the sides because of the narrowness of my face (it's a little hard to explain as it isn't related to tightening but to the wideness of the harder plastic piece of the mask.
My preference for a FFM when necessary is the FitLife - it is a total face mask and many folks don't like it. For me, it has the advantage of allowing me to breathe either through my nose or mouth if necessary, nothing impeding my vision and no pressure on or around my nose or mouth (as they tend to be sensitive when I'm sick). I've also had 2 nasal cauterizations and 6 stitches in my lip that made me very happy to not have anything pressing anywhere. On the other hand, I got terrible dry mouth with it and I did have to use higher pressures with it. Still, it is my go to when I need it.

I have tried a bunch and prefer the ResMed F10. I like the air seal it creates, and the hear gear is comfy IMHO.

Re: Full Face Mask Recommendations
Had a terrible time keeping the seal with the ResMed F10 FFM. Switched to the RespCARE HYBRID FFM, been working great for me. Lots less area to seal. And I don't need a chin strap.
Cheers,

Re: Full Face Mask Recommendations
The airfit f10 and the f&p simplus work rather well for me. they withstand the high pressure support i need for bipap.

Wife tried the F10 and disliked it and is sticking to the Quattro Air.
