I have been using the P10 since it came out with very good success. In the last 3 to 5 months the headgear length has gone from 18 ½ to 21 ½ or in some cases 21 .
I’m 6 1 ½ tall and wear a large size hat. The longer size is to long for me. Even the ladies size is now 19 ½ or even 19 in some packages. I have tried tying knots or using rubber bands on the headgear to shorten the length.
I am looking for some fresh insight on what some of you people have done to make the headgear work properly. Any suggestions would certainly be appreciated.
I am using the Dream wear mask until I can come up with a good solution.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Re: Adjusting the fit of the P10 mask with the longer headgear.
You can take the headgear part off the mask, and go and wash it in warm water and then let it air dry. This will cause it to shrink back to nearly the original length.
Another thing that you might do is go to youtube and look for videos on the AirFit P10. I've seen the above tip in more than one video about the P10, so maybe you could pick up a little more information about your mask that way.

Thank you for your suggestion.I do that once a week. My problem is getting it down to the original size 18 1/2 from the now existing 21.

Re: Adjusting the fit of the P10 mask with the longer headgear.
There comes a point when hot water won't shrink it enough. I even tried drying it in the clothes dryer and it didn't help much so I ended up breaking out a new headgear but I had probably 10 months on the headgear by then so I can't really complain too much.
Beyond that I think what I would maybe do is just get out the old scissors and a needle and thread and shorten the straps and sew them back together.

If the headgear is hopelessly stretched out, a strip of elastic can be threaded through it,
and secured with hand sewing at the ends.
Alternatively, new headgear can be purchased from various sources.

Re: Adjusting the fit of the P10 mask with the longer headgear.
I am sorry that I wasn't completely clear. My problem is
Because of the increased length of the headgear. My originals were 18 1/2 . The new headgear is 21 1/2 and has to be reduced By close to 3 inches.
I tried Froggie's idea earlier in the year it helped a little.
I was hoping that someone found a way to modify the head gear.
Thanks for your answers.

Re: Adjusting the fit of the P10 mask with the longer headgear.
Wow, that's quite a difference. If I understand you correctly now, the original headgear that you bought was 18 1/2...and when you bought a replacement, it's 21 1/2. That's quite a difference! Almost like you got one for women the first time, and men the second time? Don't know, just guessing, since I haven't bought separate head gear. They do sell extra headgear for both the "P10 for her" and "P10", maybe the extra headgear for the "P10 for her" is 18 /12"? Or have you already considered that?Bobby269 wrote:I am sorry that I wasn't completely clear. My problem is

Weird, man.
Another thing to consider, if all else fails, is the Swift FX. It has adjustable headgear, which I find more hospitable myself *smile*.

Re: Adjusting the fit of the P10 mask with the longer headgear.
I don't think many people have actually done any serious sizing reductions or at least it hasn't been mentioned here much.
If the pink headgear is still too large and stretches out too much too soon it makes me wonder about the original sizing. Have you tried the pink headgear?
I know that originally I had both the blue and the pink and I measured them side by side and they seemed to be the same but now apparently there is that inch or so difference. That was of course when the mask was first released in Jan 2014. I didn't take a ruler to them though...just did a side by side quick eye measurement
I wonder if in response to the repeated complaints of it being "too tight" that they have made things just a little bit longer and a little longer coupled with the stretching just works out to be too loose for some people.
I know that new now doesn't seem to be so tight as it was when I first got the mask. I had thought that maybe I was just used to it now but maybe they are a bit longer now to start with.
I haven't had the need to do any serious modifications but if I did I would just shorten things with scissors and secure with a little thread.
I wouldn't want to overlap anything unless I could figure out a place where there wouldn't be lump..maybe on top of the head.
