I always wash my cpap equipment (including mask and water tub) with tap water (as I it should be done) and rinse them with tap water before drying them.
Then I just read an article stating that the mask and water tub should be rinsed well in distilled water?? Why?
Here's the link I hope I'm allowed to post it.

Anything published has to cover everything. In some areas tap water may not be as clean as in other areas. Well water varies also.
If they tell you it's okay to use tap water and yours happens to have chemicals in it and you get sick, well they don't want to be sued.
Distilled water is ALWAYS fine to use, so they say to use it. Some use it and others use tap.

In my opinion, the guy that wrote that article is an idiot. Trying to appeal to the OCD crowd and sell more stuff.Ms. OwLMooN wrote:I always wash my cpap equipment (including mask and water tub) with tap water (as I it should be done) and rinse them with tap water before drying them.

Re: Something Puzzling
I used to rinse with distilled water because of the water spots.
Now, it does not bother me that much.
(Our city water has 13 grains of hardness, so spotty glasses and limestone cave toilet tanks are common.)
