Someone is making a killing on the Hybrid

I was just checking some of the Hybrid prices that are out there and one online retailer is listing the Hybrid for $252.00 I would hope to see that come down very soon. I will always stick with cpap.com as the service and prices can't be beat. Not to mention that they are the life blood of this forum. I guess we all just have to watch who we buy from watch the difference in prices.

Let us just hope that enough hybrids are bought to keep it in production until the price comes down.

Then maybe the rest of us can get one!

I think that online retailer realized that they were the only retailer to have stock of these Hybrids since cpap.com has been out of it lately. Hopefully cpap.com will realize soon that they have to order in advance and not wait till all the ones they have in stock are spoken for. That appears the only way to keep thse Hybrids in stock and STOP price gouging.

I believe that cpap.com has been ordering in advance. They shipped their first units right at or slightly before the official release date. I think they have them coming in as fast as the manufacturer will ship them to them.

Someone I think it was DME_Guy posted late last week that they were trying to place an order with the manufacturer and they had to wait on hold to order the rep said something about taking orders for over 200 in the previous hour. Bear in mind that NONE of the major DMEs will even admit to knowing this even exists. If they ever decide that it exists, look out.

I think its been a while (if ever) that there has been a firestorm like this in the cpap mask sales market. I'm not sure the manufacturer was completely prepared for the response.

and I think there is going to be a lot a folks with sore nares by the time this is all said and done with.

should be able to pick up a used one fairly cheap after about a week from delivery, toss it in some boiling water and your good to go.

Something about this post screams TROLL, but on the off chance that its not:

The initial reviews CERTAINLY DO NOT give any indication that this is likely and these are reviews from people with lots of mask experience who aren't hiding their identity. I'll see when mine gets here, or I could just keep living with my current mask whistling dixie when I'm trying to go to sleep.

By the way, anonymous, if what say is true, why would I want one at any price new or used?

If your current mask is working for you, by all means it may be worth waiting for a broader experience base before deciding.

I agree that maybe the manufacturer did not realize what a huge rush there would be for this mask. I am not holding out for any deals. I am going to hold out for my insurance to pay for it in August when I am due for a new mask anyway. I was shocked at what some people are charging for this mask.

what have you been living under a rock? Every time a new mask comes out people rush out to buy it and within a few weeks it is for sale. Same thing happens when any new mask came out, people did it when the breeze came out, the nasalaire, they did it when the swift came out, what makes you think they won't do it again with this hybrid. A pillow mask is a pillow mask.

Not to take anything away from Mike's review, but I'll wait until I read 9 out of 10 people here like it and continue to use it.

Wasn't trying to be, but I think you've pretty well shown yourself Anonymous. You are posting anonymously and have provided no basis for your point of view. We have no way of knowing your experience or even if you've ever put a mask on.

Mike's review isn't the only one, it was just the first and most in depth thus far. Please don't worry about ordering a hybrid, there are others who are far more worthy. There have been several posts from people who have received one or used it which indicate the opposite of your opinion. We have several posts from people who through their history of posting have demonstrated their experience. I'll take their judgements over your anonymous opinion based by your own admission on NO personal experience with this particular mask.

I don't blame you for waiting for the insurance. I just got a mask last month so I would be waiting for a while and I just can't take the leaks and sore nose from the UM any more. Hopefully by August, some of the DMEs will have started carrying it or at least admit to having heard of it.

I'm through responding to you. I should have followed my instincts to begin with. I'll be putting my energy into better things. Hope you find a mask that works for you because you obviously need one.

I ordered on July 1 and my cpap.com account says I will receive the Hybrid by July 7. That is not such a long wait for a mask in demand. As usual, cpap.com follows through.

Lesson for Resmed:
If you come up with a new inovative product people will buy it even though the cost may be high.
If you just raise the price of your old stuff people will get pissed off and stop buying from you.

The RT at my local Lincare knew about it. She said that the hybrid was available in their system to order and they just placed an order last week to fill some scripts. 2 doctors in particular she said were sending a lot of scripts for hybrid. She also added that Lincare is only paying about $20-25 more for the hybrid compared to the F&P HC431. That seems a reasonable premium to me.
