Nasal Mask Recommendations?

Post by janeysmom » Wed Jul 08, 2015 2:53 pm

I have been using the Mirage™ FX For Her Nasal CPAP Mask with Headgear for several years now. I like it, or at least nasal masks, preferably over full face or nasal pillows. However, I am finding it to leak quite a bit and therefore be noisy. Tomorrow, I am off to get a new machine, the Airsense 10, and to pick up the Airfit F10 mask. But as the Airfit F10 is a full face, I am going to see if I can switch it to nasal mask. What have folks used that they have liked and haven't been noisy? Any recommendations are helpful! Thank you!

Since you prefer the nasal cushion type of mask you might look at the F & P Eson. I hear that it is very quiet with the Q cover diffuser added so that vent noise and flow is greatly reduced.

I don't have any real personal experience with nasal cushion masks so otherwise I am not much help.
I have tried the Respironics Wisp but didn't have good success with it (others do quite well) but I did try the Swift FX Nano nasal cushion mask and it worked out quite well. Still not good enough to nudge my overall preference from nasal pillows though. The Wisp and the Nano don't use the forehead support. If you like the forehead support the Eson does use it and might work well for you.

ResMed also has the N10 Airfit nasal cushion mask but I haven't seen or used one to know how it might compare in the noise department. I know the nasal pillow venting in the AirFit P10 is pretty much silent.

Thank you! I picked up my new machine on Thursday and love it. It is so much quieter. And I got the Airfit Nasal for Her initially but it was too small. I went back and get the Airfit N10 and used it last night. All went well! It sure feels great to sleep well again at night.
