Equipment format

Post by bwexler » Mon Jun 01, 2015 12:22 pm

Since most of the old timers here much prefer to see equipment profile listed in text format, why can't we eliminate the graphic format completely. That way we might no longer need to explain to every new commer to use text.
Could it really be that big a job for the webmaster to eliminate the graphics choice?

Support for the forum is very hands off and I doubt there is a "webmaster" who is available to make that type of change.

The whole section that does equipment entry is a custom part of the website that was added (not part of phpBB). It is quite possible that it would cost money for them to have that type of change made even if the change is simple.

You can just put your curser on the picture of the equipment item and the name will show up on the bottom left of your screen.

That is working under the faulty assumption they have some clue what machine they are using, one picture for 10 machines doesn't make any sense. To the new user a XPAP is a box that plugs into electricity and has a hose coming out of it. Jim

Maybe they make computer whiteout, we need a bottle, big bottle, and thread lock, and poll delete.

If you are using Tapatalk, you don't see the equipment list at all (among other things). but if I want to see the list, I switch to a web browser.

I and many others SUGGEST they fill in their equiptment in TEXT, not ICONNY!

If they do, I follow their posts, if they don't I take it as a sign that they already know everything, definitely more than me. Jim
