Best nasal mask?

I'd like to buy a new nasal mask. My ideal mask would be:

- lightweight,
- very quiet
- seals well,
- easy on/off,
- has some type of air directional system so it doesn't blow air on your bed partner.


I already have:
- Ultra Mirage nasal which is not bad.
- Swift Nasal Pillows - noisey and no air direction
- Activa - not bad but a bit heavy

Can anyone suggest what nasal masks they have found to work well? I'm sure there have been posts on this subject.

These won't necessarily meet all your criteria, but here are a couple more you might want to try:

nasal mask (covers the nose) --

Puritan Bennett DreamFit. Not the Breeze Dreamseal attachment.

Respironics ComfortLite 2. You might need to add a soft strap across the "simple cushion" nose covering piece. Also comes with nasal pillows - easy to switch from one style to the other.

You said nasal mask, but since you mentioned having used the Swift, I'll mention that Aeiomed's "Headrest" nasal pillows mask has the best designed exhaust vent of all, if you are looking for an exhaust that won't hit anything.

As RG said, the Aura (Headrest).

It has the best exhale venting system in the business - up near the forehead that blows straight up over your head. Unless you are head butting someone - they won't feel this baby.

When I occasionally put my hand up over my head and feel the flow of air, sometimes I wonder "what in the heck is that"? Then it dawns on me - duh.

I just forget it's even there and I can bury my face in my soft pillow and never have to worry about blocking the vents and making noise.

UltraMirageII. Has all the good features of the original UltraMirage nasal with some improvements to the forehead pads and quick-release clips.

I tried the Swift again last night, couldn't keep that thing on any longer than the ramp expiring. Like the Breeze and Nasalaire that thing is noisy.
