What are these parameters on the ResMed S9 ?

Found on the sleep report screen:

SW SX474-1203 (this must be software version)

BIB

VID

RID

HID

This is what I found.
SW - Displays the current software version.
BID - Displays the boot loader ID.
VID - Displays the variant ID.
RID - Displays the regional variant ID.
HID - Displays the humidifier software ID.

What is a boat loader ID ? Variant ID ? Regional variant ID ?

Anyone know the difference between four year old Software ID SX474-0602 and the ID listed in the start post ? Is it worth upgrading ?

I'm good at finding things and solving problems but I don't know what these ID's mean to the unit, other than guessing. What I did was copy either just the SW part or the whole post (don't remember) and Googled it. I found the same questions on another forum with these answers but didn't find any explanation of the terms. Maybe someone else has the meanings.

This is speculation on my part but is based on conventional computer definitions. The boot loader is a program that loads an operating system when a computer is turned on. The ID would be what version it is. The regional variant probably is the region of the world the machine is configured for (e.g.: North America, Europe, Asia, etc.). Much like a regional setting for DVD's. The variant is probably the language subsection. This would be like North America-Canadian French or something along those lines. I might have the last two reversed but I'm felling lucky today.
