Lincare offerings

Post by mirwin » Fri Jan 02, 2015 3:32 pm

I'm trying to understand what kind of 'digital' offerings Lincare has - smart phone apps, on-line ordering, remote telemetry of units, etc. I'm having a difficult time finding info from their website.

As far as I know they don't offer any of that. They supposedly have a call center that will call and remind you of when you are "due" to order supplies based on your insurance companies allowed scheduled. I received my machine from them on August 19th of this past summer and have yet to actually be signed up for this service. I have to call my local office and complain every time I want something. The last time I called and asked for another mask as its been over 3 months and I wanted another one to have as a backup. I told him which mask I use and the size. He sent me a different mask. They have yet to ask me for the SD card out of my machine to check compliance. Their followup care is next to nothing as I received ONE call from them about 4 days after receiving my machine and they have not asked me since how my therapy has been going.

My suggestion....if you have an alternate DME that you can use...do so. Lincare is the worst I've ever experienced and DO NOT get me started talking about their billing department because I'm trying to keep my blood pressure under control LOL

HI! I received my 3rd cpap from Lincare. They are using Airsense autosets across the board so you have the wireless monitoring. You can utilize the My Air app available from Resmed to get the data sent to your phone. 4 ways to order your supplies: 1) auto-ship 2) call them 3) have them call you 4) email service: monthly email is sent, within the email is a link which shows what I am eligible for via my insurance. I then chose what I want to have delivered. I love the email as I stay in control of what I need.
I've been a Lincare customer for 17 years and haven't had any issues. LOVE my local center!!!

Woody, Now I want to give you a link of Archangle's on dealing with the DME and which machine to choose. Just click on those areas and you will find machines to avoid. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... ngle:Links

Must be local office issues- just moved home from a year in Illinois (Elgin). That office was ass kicking- brought me my machine, brought me a new mask.... followed up, answered questions etc. Here in Akron- can't get a call back on anything.

So, if you had to choose between Lincare and Apria, ... what would you do and why?

It doesn't matter what Lincare bills...Medicare determines the price and you pay 20% of that. Any CPAP is billed at about $750 ( including Humidifier) and under Medicare you are billed at 20%.....usually in 13 monthly payments.

if you have a supmental insurance they pay the 20% and you owe nothing
If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!
