ADD and CPAP

Post by snamvar » Mon Jan 24, 2005 10:23 pm

Did you ever have Attention Deficit Disorder? How much did it improve with CPAP treatment?

I am a computer programmer and I seem to have lost the concentration and clarity for the past 20 years
I just wonder if others have been in a similar situation and found CPAP to be the answer.
Cheers
P.S. I am now on CPAP and at it everynight whit some good results. How better does it get?
I don't do mornings !!!

I read an artical that said that excercise helped to prevent attension deficit disorder. Maybe a daily walk followed by a good nights sleep with your CPAP is the answer. Jolene.

ADD & Apnea

Post by Grashppr36 » Tue Jan 25, 2005 1:40 am

I have Adult ADD and Sleep Apnea. The thing I find is that I get so distracted at bed time next thing I know it's 4 am! So I have to make a real effort to get some activity during the day (a walk, etc) and to try and train myself to get to bed at a regular time.

It's slowly getting better. I think a person's improvement level is individual. By better I mean that I am having longer periods of concentration.

I do have bouts of insomnia as well. My system is so out of whack that I have heard it can take a long time for the body to readjust.

Hang in there!

Sleep Deprivation can cause ADD. And CPAP can improve or mostly cure it. Of course, if you've had ADD since you were a kid like I have, it probably won't make much difference in that case.
