Ya'll gotta remember I'm Cajun and can argue any of the eight sides of an issue. As a relatively newbie here, I sure do appreciate all the information passing through this forum.
As for answering specific questions regarding instructions, etc, put me on the fence right beside Liam. There are liability issues (my Sweetie's an ex-lawyer) that first come to mind.
The other thing is "READ THE INSTRUCTION BOOK!" If your unit didn't come with one, go back to your DME and get one! Then read the darn thing and understand it. My DME set up my 420E as a straight CPAP unit. )(&*&#$*# But, she also included the instruction booklet which gave precise instructions for setting up as auto-titrating unit. Whew! Especially as I didn't notice the set-up until about 9PM.
After reading the instructions, this would then be a great place to ask for explanations or expansions on them. There's a lot of very knowledgeable folks here who are more than willing to share, but keep in mind, we're users, not technicians (ok, some of us are way technical! LOL) trained in the unit nor are we Doctors or RTs (at least most of us aren't) trained in sleep therapy. Most of us are learning as we go........and benefitting from the others here.
This is a great forum and the folks who are here, as well as the ones who set it up, are awesome!

This therapy WORKS!!!
Can someone who is using a ResMed VPAP lll or has info on how to change the menu please PM me? I want to change from the simple menu to the one where I can get more info. My users manual doesn't tell me how. I notice in the manual on the detail menu it shows where you enter the data regarding which mask you are using. I have changed masks since I got my machine, does it make a difference if I don't have that info entered?
Sorry to such a pain but I am a newbie, but also the kind of person that wants to know everything about what I am using and what makes it tick.

A clarification was asked for earlier as the the boards policy on PMing users with pressure setting information. Our boards policy on this is that Private Messages are just that, private. We don't monitor or control the flow of private messages. Nor do we have a position on the content of those messages, since we don't know what that content is.

I don't think it is a good idea to post how to change pressure settings. Almost all machines which store compliance info have a way of displaying that info without giving access to changing pressures. The information is out there if someone really wants to find it but even the dme would have to get an order from the doc or lab to change a pressure.
If someone is having problems that they would need a pressure change then they should be in touch with their doc or whomever may be following them regarding the OSA, a patient may think they need a pressure change when really there can be some other co-existing problems.

Oh Melmel, Alot of us don't have DMEs or Docs to Tell us how to set our Cpaps. We manage our own therapy. How could I ask a Doc that doesn't believe in Auto units what range to set my PB420E at ?
I did go to a sleep Doc 3 years ago. After my GP gave me a Rx for an auto AND I had a tumor removed from my sinus that was blocking my airway the sleep Doc still insisted that my pressure of 11 that he perscribed was valid. Go figure.
I showed him my charts from the PB software and he said Your titration was 11.
The software clearly shows my 95% as 6.6

Just remember this. Docs have a license to Pratice medicine . Anybody know where I can find a Doc thats thru practicing and wants to start Doing.
The licensed doc that insisted I take Statins almost killed me. And my cholesterol was only 140. Now I take fish oil , Inositol (a B vitimin) and Licorice Root and its down to 115. All prescribed by my New Anti Aging Doc. And he doesn't care where I purchase it.
I'll let my auto pap decide what pressure I need . It seems to be working fine.
And I don't FART all morning.
Maybe I should have left the pressure alone when I was getting AHIs of 15-20.. Now they are usually less than 1.
