Ultimate backup battery

Post by CapnLoki » Fri May 01, 2015 5:48 am

http://www.teslamotors.com/powerwall

The 10 kWh backup version, for $3500 with a 10 yr warranty, is roughly equivalent to 800 Amp-hours at 12V, or enough juice to run a basic cpap for 200 nights. If I had solar power in my house, or lived where there are frequent brownouts or outages, this would be tempting. For comparison, it is 3-4 times the useful power of my boat's house bank, which costs about $600. It, however, has to be replaced every 5-6 years and requires periodic maintenance.

saw mentions of that over the past couple days.

Put some back straps on it and you have a camping dream power source
