When I started CPAP, I had what my endo is now pretty positive was the hyperthyroid side of subacute thyroiditis. It was also causing some major anxiety (which, um, may have been apparent by some earlier posts of mine). Interestingly, now that my Free T4 has bottomed out, and is heading toward hypo, my AHI has taken a nose-dive as well. I have gone from 2.5-4, to an average of 1.5-2 this week. Now, obviously this is just a correlation, but I found it interesting! I really hope it continues, even as my thyroid gets back to normal.
Has anyone else noticed a major increase in AHI due to anxiety (my guess is that was the culprit, not the thyroid directly) and a lowered AHI when the anxiety was properly dealt with?
Only slightly OT - my thyroid is getting lower, so is AHI

Ok, so "major" was the wrong word choice. But, it was double (yeah, from 1-2 and 2-4 isn't a big deal). it was a thought.
