Having just gotten a RemStar auto w/c-flex, I was interested in the snore index and read your post with great interest. However, last night I found one you missed.
When I went to be last night, I had just put the mask on and light out and settled down when one of my cats jumped up on me. He wanted some attention, so I started patting him and he settled down right on top of me. Then the other cat jumped up for his share of attention and lay down next to me. Well, I spent about 15-20 minutes patting them and they were purring like mad the whole time. Today when I checked my smart card, it shows a HUGE number of snores during the first half hour, when I wasn't asleep and was playing with the cats. Evidently, it read their purring as snores!
One more to watch for.

Well, I've been thinking about getting them tested. They show a lot of "daytime sleepiness" - Oh, wait, that's right. Cats normally sleep between 16-20 hours per day.wading thru the muck! wrote:Debbie,
Those were the other "bedroom noises" I was refering to. I'm sure there are many others. I bet you didn't know your cats snored.
Seriously. I wish I could sleep as well as they do. Any place, any time is great for a nap. Have you seen those pictures with a cat sound asleep and falling out of a box or basket waaaay too small? Mine do that all the time.

Talking about snores...
While we're on the subject of snores, I have noticed my snore index going up over the past few days. But it has been happening while I'm half awake - and I'm aware of it taking place. The thing is it's not really a snore - it happens as I exhale, and is as if my vocal chords close and I emit a "hmmmm" sound, which must be of low enough frequency to register as a snore. It actually wakes me momentarily.
I think it might be caused by the C-Flex lowering the pressure during exhalation, allowing the vocal chords to close. I've lowered the C-Flex setting to 2 to see what happens.
