RES MED s(
Could someone please comment whether they have used the ResMed S9 Autoset CPAP? I am looking for a new machine and want one with humidifier and ramp capacity. If you have used, have there been any issues? Thanks all!
Re: RES MED s(
My first one was a little noisy. The replacement has been very quiet.I would purchase another one when the time comes.

Re: RES MED s(
Lots of people on this list use them. I got mine in April 2012, and my mom upgraded to one a few months later. I also have a second machine of the same model for travel / backup.
Just make sure it is the autoset and not the escape auto. Then you will have full data to review your therapy.

Who would have thought it would be this challenging to sleep and breathe at the same time?

Welcome to the forum. I have the S9 and like it. Have heard good things about resmed autosense as well. Stick around. There are many helpful members here.
Re: RES MED s(
The S9 Autoset is a good machine and still available, but just so you know -- ResMed has replaced the S9 Autoset with the newer AirSense 10 Autoset. Some of our members are using the A10 now and you can also read about it on the ResMed website: http://www.resmed.com/us/en/consumer/pr ... -cpap.html

I prefer to call PR "Captain Obvious." I often see people that are unknowingly titled "Admiral Oblivious," or some other rank of the unknowing...but seeing as there are probably THOUSANDS of posts here on S9 use, questions, etc...it seems like a solid observation on PRs part, though I'm not making awards at the moment.49er wrote:Who appointed you board czar?palerider wrote:really?mmm517 wrote:Could someone please comment whether they have used the ResMed S9 Autoset CPAP? Re: RES MED s9
Welcome, mmm.
Lots of people here use the S9 machines and they have a good track record. ResMed has a newer line of models called the AirSense 10, which we tend to call the A10, but they also get called S10 or Air10. The A10 is improved in some ways, but not improved enough that it's a clear choice between old reliable S9 and the new A10.
The PRS1 (Philips Respironics System One) machines are about the same level as the ResMed. There's no clear cut winner between PRS1 and ResMed S9 or A10.
Be sure and get the right model machine. Some people will try the old switcheroo on you. The ResMed AutoSet machines say "AutoSet" near the power button on the S9 and on the lower right on the A10. Avoid the Escape Auto, and realize there is not "Auto" machine, it's "AutoSet."
There is a lot of info on what machine to buy, and how not to get screwed in the purchase process in the Useful Links in my signature line at the bottom of this post.
Remember if it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check for yourself.
