Pr system one white air filter

Post by Hurricane » Wed Feb 25, 2015 2:40 pm

I have a m series machine, and using it as a backup, question, can i use the white filters from the M series mach, in my new PR system One Remstar 60 series Bipap AutoSv Advanced unit. They both appear to be the same size, except the M series filter has a tab, also I always had kept the fuzzy side out the smooth side in, is it the right way.I then put the foam filter on the outside.

The side that feels like it's made of plastic coated fibers (swirling long strands) is the side that faces the circular air inlet to the interior of the machine.

M series filters and PRS1 filters are the same. The non-fuzzy plasticy or mesh side goes toward the machine. Many of the newer filters are printed on the outward facing side. i.e. if you put the white filter in and look, you'll see the printing until you put the foam filter in.

Put in the white filter, then the foam filter.

The white filter is optional. I suspect it doesn't hurt a lot if you put it in backwards.

They figured out some time back that the tab made the filters more likely to pop out and don't put the tab on it any more. I just cut the tabs off of my PRS1 filters and it seems to work well.

I've use the filters from an old M machine. I found that the tab made the filter bow a bit so I just trimmed it off. Fuzzy side out - larger surface area can collect more air particles before getting clogged.

the fuzzy stuff is the filter, the non fuzzy bit on the other side is the support to keep the filter from being sucked into the machine
