Retaining Fluids

Post by Snuffleupagus » Mon Feb 21, 2005 9:01 am

I am a new user to cpap--in fact this is only my 5th night and it seems that I am retaining all kinds of water/fluid. The first night or two I thought it was because I was sleeping so soundly that I hardly moved in my sleep and was stiff and puffy in the morning. Now after my 5th night I am definitely swollen and uncomfortable. I was so thrilled because I had been sleeping for 7 + hours straight ---the first time in years. Has anyone else had this effect???

Welcome Snuf and congratulations on starting your therapy! I'm no MD but I know from experience that there are many reasons for fluid build up, some better than others. Please speak to your Doc about it as soon as you can. Then be sure to let us all know how you're doing.
