Newly diagnosed

Post by Mariam » Thu Jan 15, 2015 7:56 am

Hi there
I've just been diagnosed with apnea and am wanting to find out what the chances are of the cpap giving me back my life. I've suffered from daily chronic fatigue for almost 20 years now and the docs have just discovered the problem. Can anyone tell me that the cpap will change my life? I'm desperate to get my life back.
Thanks
M

There is a 34 page thread of newbie success stories at the top of this forum viewtopic/t14494/Newbie-would-like-to-h ... lease.html I think you should be able to find what you're looking for there. For most, there is a very positive change for the better, but you'll need to do your part to be successful. Good luck, and welcome.

Hi and welcome. Cpap will probably change your life, but to what extent and how soon depends on many things as everyone's different. If you get lucky with your first or second mask (they're usually the 'problem' children of Cpap) and you otherwise take to Cpap well, you shouldn't have much trouble, but until you do start, and get a look at different factors in software tracking (explain in a sec), plus depending what you bring to it all in terms of meds, other health issues, attitude (sounds great so far) and support system, it's hard to say for sure.

Software tracking (you may know about it of course) means that you have a card in your machine that records what happens each night, and then that goes into your computer (or card reader first) so you see just what's what and can then tweak this or that if necessary - and we can help you with that, and many other things as well.

I suggest you read this -
