Tomorrow start of week four
Will be starting week four tomorrow. First night I woke up feeling more rested. At that point I thought it was going to be easy. WRONG!! Still waking up 4-5 times a night. First week with a dry mouth so I upped the humidity. Also felt like I was smothering with the mask on. After about 2 1/2 weeks I asked the doctor to turn down my pressure as I felt like I was outside in a hurricane and smothering. It was changed from 20/16 to 18/14. I can tolerate that better but it is still very forceful. Oh yes, three days after starting I had a head and chest cold that is still lingering somewhat. Last night I experienced my first rain out. So tonight I will turn the humidity back some. I have been going back and forth between the med. quattro air full face mask and the sm. airfit f10. Playing a lot with leaks near my eyes. I already have dry eyes that run a lot. Also bought a buckwheat hull pillow which has helped tremendously. I'm still feeling tired. Keep plugging and managing 6-7 hours most nights. A lot of that is awake time while trying to fall asleep. I do take my mask off as it gets frustrating and NOW I can't sleep in bed without the machine. Is this normal? Anyone has any suggestions so I can sleep more than three hours at a rip?

Fill in your profile so we can make more effective recommendations. You appear to be on a bilevel therapy. If you really want to get a handle on your AHI, pressure, flow, snores and leaks, you need to download and use software. Based on what you see, you ca better communicate with your doctor, or download the clinical manual and learn to make small adjustments, and observe the effect.
Your post suggests you're trying to tackle many problems all at once. You will need to focus on one thing at a time and then move on to the next problem. As you found, changing humidity, was not the answer to a problem with leaks. Pressure changes should be based on therapy effectiveness as well as comfort. You can only balance those two by seeing what is going on.
Get the software. http://sleepfiles.com/SH/index.html?TestingVersions Consider using mask liners for comfort and leak relief. For rain-out, a heated hose or hose cover will help a lot along with a reasonable level of humidity.
