Airfit 10

Post by Greg Riddle » Fri Jan 09, 2015 5:04 am

Received the air fit 10 in large yesterday. I'm changing from the Quattro fx ffm. It took time to get it in poison and getting the strap adjusted. Had a few leak issues and adjusted the position on my face. Once I figured out the face position and strap tension. It took me 3 minutes to fall asleep according to sleepyhead. It was a big change to not have mask leaks wake me up. The f10 is extremely comfortable. Even with the strap pretty tight due to the high pressure it felt comfortable. When I woke up this morning I wasn't sure if the straps had loosened. I also had to check the pressure because I thought there is no way it could be this comfortable. I'm pleased with the fit and feel of the mask. The only issue I have is the headgear. I need a large ffm but my head is not big enough for the large headgear.

Glad it's working for you... I find that the AirFit F10 has a much wider range of acceptable adjustment than all other FFMs. More forgiving in other words. But then, everybody's face is different and there's plenty here that don't like the F10.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

My large f10 came with a med. headgear that was too large for my head. I think a sm. headgear would be too small. I have tried cutting off sections of the straps behind the velcro to make them shorter and this has helped.

You may already have found this, but they make a smaller headgear. I'm not sure if it's interchangeable with either of the 2 frame sizes. The packaged headgear is the "standard" blue. There is also a Large and a Small blue. The "for her" version comes with a "standard" pink, which is the same as the small blue. I think they are around $30 US at cpap.com.

If all sizes of headgear do work on both frames, you could downsize to the one below. Some recommend washing in hot water to shrink headgear. I have not tried that with the F10. I would like to try the small some time. I have the "standard" blue with a medium cushion. I find that I'm almost at the limit of the top straps velcro range as I tighten the tops pretty good. This is with a 7.25 hat size. The small might be workable if it doesn't constrict in other areas. Wish you continued success!

Maybe one of the other posters will let us know if the small headgear will work with the M/L frame.

Best,

Mike

Talked to a sales rep and they said the medium headgear will work on the large mask

Even a slight drop of my chin causes leaks with F10. Not so with Mirage Quattro.

I hope I get repeatable results.
