Newbie Question

Post by Baylor1970 » Sun Jan 04, 2015 12:28 pm

My significant other get a CPAP machine two days ago (PR System One) and used the machine for the last two nights. I generated the reports using SleepyHead and do not know much about determining what the reports tell me. I uploaded them to photobucket and would like someone that has some experience tell me what they see in the reports and why.

I hope this is how to post the screen shots.

Thanks so much for your help,
Rick

The first graph only has 3 features showing, the second the same, but results are all over the place and there's e.g. no info on leak rates, etc...

Rick welcome to the forums. Looks like a good start and the AHI for Friday looks pretty good..not so much for around 11:00 on Saturday. I would make a couple suggestions based on these numbers alone, but it would help also to know qualitatively how the user feels the therapy went.

First, I would turn off the VS2 flags (file/Preferences/Events, uncheck VS2). Vibratory snores offer enough info for now.
The machine is set for a minimum pressure of about 5.5 cmH2O and a max pressure of 10. The obstructive apnea events grow out of periods at minimum pressure, and the machine response takes some time to catch up with them. Especially on Saturday you can see the pressure tries to increase but it isn't fast enough to stop that huge cluster of OA. That suggest a need to raise minimum pressure. It appears the therapy was removed after that occurred, and resumes shortly after midnight.

Leak data is missing from the graphs, and that might be important in explaining some of the events, and in particular what's going on during that cluster of snoring from 1:30 to 3:00 on Saturday's data. Try to include the leak data by resizing the graphs. Again, looks like a good start, and comfort is more important than graphs at this point. It looks like a minimum pressure of 7.0 cmH2O might offer faster response, but there could be some other things going on.
