Airsense 10 Water Tub

Post by Thatgirl » Sun Dec 14, 2014 9:06 am

Looking around online I see that there is a standard Airsense 10 water tub and a dishwasher safe version. They look identical in pictures to me. How can I tell which version I have?

The quickest way to tell at a glance is the plastic traction pad on top, the small rectangular plastic insert.....on the standard tub it is white, on the dishwasher safe it is a darker gray color. Also if you look more closely embossed in the plastic on the lid right above the water fill level graphics you will see: HUMIDAIR S.......or HUMIDAIR C.......the S or the C is in a little square. S is the standard, C is dishwasher safe. The machines usually come with the standard tub, but you can purchase the premium tub separately from cpap dot com.

Thanks! I asked at the DME if any of the parts were dishwasher safe, and they told me my water tub was. Clearly, I have the standard one, though.

Also note the standard tank says "distilled water only."

Does the plastic seem to be a different material? On the later model S9 tanks, the standard tanks are apparently not polycarbonate, even though older ones were polycarb. I know because the later model S9 tanks are damaged by boiling water. The older polycarb s9 tanks weren't.

I note the A10 cleanable tanks are listed as being safe for 90C water sanitization, so they're some fairly high temp plastic.

I don't see a need for putting it in the dishwasher ever. If you use Distilled water only I never gets dirty. What's making your tank so dirty you feel a need to use the dishwasher? Just curious. Lol!

Nothing, just a question I thought to ask when they talked to me about cleaning it.

Even the "real" dishwasher safe tub needs to be cleaned on the top rack, with heated drying off, IMHO.

I can't tell what the plastic is...........hard to tell much of a difference from the two kind of tubs.........would have to do some research on the plastic in these units.

I don't put them in the dishwasher, but if you were in a rush it's nice to know that you can do so, and like the Frog says: if you do put them in the washer put them on the top rack and air dry...............Frogs seem pretty smart

I did notice that the quality of the metal base is better in the dishwasher safe tub, with the standard tub I got a slight discoloration in the tub after the first night.......I have my humidity and hose temp up pretty high, but I was still surprised to see the small blemish area in the standard tub. After I got the dishwasher safe tub I did not get that problem with the same temperatures, so my assumption is the metal is of higher quality in the better tub. I use both tubs every night because it is so dry here I will run out of water if I am on the hose for a full eight hours............so my solution was to fill two tubs at night before bed, and when I wake up around 4 or 5 am for a bathroom break I just slide one tub out, and the other full one goes in its place..............no worries about running dry by morning

**a note about the picture with the two tubs...........the lower one was fresh out of the machine so there was condensation on the inside of the plastic...........that's why in the picture they look different..........just minute water droplets in the lower one.......thought I'd mention that so no confusion.

On the latest model S9 tubs, the plastic material in the tubs looks and feels different between standard and cleanable.
