Blowing Cold Air...even when heat is on

Post by onthefreeway » Fri Dec 12, 2014 7:22 pm

Some nights I wake up and I ask myself, "why am I awake?" And then I realize my ResMed Autoset is blowing cold air into my nose, even though it's set to 80 degrees (humidifier is set to 1.5). I have to raise the temp higher - usually to 82 - to warm it up again so I can fall back to sleep. My question is, if I set it to 80, shouldn't the machine automatically maintain that temp? Just wondering if the machine is giving out. It's not even 2 years old!

Is your bedroom cold/cool?

The air from the humidifier can cool down by the time it reaches the mask.

Some of us use hose covers, which help keep the air warm.

I have the heated hose and use the climate control, and even when set on 86 (highest setting) the air in the mask is cool, not warm. My house gets to maybe 66 at night, if its a cool night, the hose will be noticibly warm, but the air itself will feel cool (not cold) and damp
